Time for reflection (Exercise)

  • You will need: pen and paper
  • Estimated time: 15 minutes

Think about your own working environment and take some time to reflect on the following questions.

  • How are LGBTQI+ students treated? Are they visible or invisible?
  • Does your school has policies that address homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying and harassment? Are they implemented? Are students aware of those policies? How about the school staff?
  • What of the above mentioned recommendations can be implemented in your school?
  • Is the school staff (at least some of them) willing to learn and implement some of the activities where LGBTQI+ topics are discussed in a positive light?

After reflecting on these questions, write 1 or 2 goals that you would like to achieve in the next year. After that, list some activities that can help you achieve those goals in a given timeframe.
