Module A – Hotline/Chat Operators

Aim

This module aims to give examples of possible situations for a hotline/chat operator and gives a general view of what it means to be a hotline/chat operator for LGBTQI+ clients, how to handle a conversation/chat, possible scenarios and different approaches to use in certain situations.

After this module the participants will:

  • Be familiar with the principles of being a hotline/chat operator
  • Be familiar with the different models of support
  • Be able to handle difficult clients
  • Be able to actively listen
